Take charge

It is not old news that poverty is vicious. However, there are principles; though not new, but nonetheless can lead to achievement of wealth if applied right. These principles need to be reinforced and re-examined constantly as there is a thin line between success and failure, and when you stop to increase, you start to decrease.

The tenets in focus are universal; they are not affected by time, place, race or setting. They will work for anyone that employs them. For the purpose of this write-up, we shall discuss a few. They are not exhaustive and new ones are coming up every now and then.

The bottom-line, however, is that you need the much talked about PMA- positive mental attitude (this could be likened to faith if you like). Now let us further break it all down.

It is not “believe it when you see it;” “it is see it when you believe it.” Many people see with their physical eyes only. Nevertheless, unfortunately, these are very limited in scope, space, time and horizon.

The eye of the mind is of spiritual quality. It is more profound and not limited by any of the variables limiting the physical eye. You need to image or imagine your success, breakthrough or wealth before you can achieve it. See far into your immediate and distant future. The future you cannot see, you cannot create.

While merchandising popcorn in front of a movie house, Wilson Kemmons, founder of the Holiday Inn saw or visualized himself as “the world”s greatest Innkeeper”. In case you did not know, this vision came through. The reputation Holiday Inn, his hospitality outfit speaks for itself.

The mind is about the most important singular component/element of the being called man. Out of it are the issues of life that shape life.

Prosperity is a game, and it all starts from the mind. The mind should be conditioned to think big, really big; the bigger, the better.

Your mind is your source of unlimited overflowing abundance. Life is about levels; you have to determine in your mind the magnitude of wealth you intend to have and what you must give or do to achieve this. It is better to be on the safe side by aiming higher and bigger enough.

Your life is shapened by the dominating thoughts in your mind and how big your desires are. Your mind writes the figure before you append your signature. People who think kobo thoughts get kobo outputs. Individuals like Otunba Wale Adenuga, Aliko Dangote, Henry Ford; John D. Rockefeller, Bill Gates, Andrew Carnegie and other builders of great wealth first had big thoughts.

A dullard will not rule his world. To turn vision to into reality, you need to have knowledge, wisdom and intelligence. Ignorance is a sin, and it will be punished. It is written, “A good understanding giveth favour but the way of the ignorant is hard.”

It is not enough to desire success; you must have a grasp of details involved in achieving that vision, since you are what you know. An understanding of the details enhances the quality of your output.

Knowledge and specialized knowledge will make you of high demand in your chose field, and grant you speed for accomplishment. Knowledge id not a gift, it is a task.

Apart from formal education or going to school, other veritable temporal sources of knowledge include books; somebody once said, “If you want to hide something from a fool, put it in a book”. Do not be a fool; get good books to read- books on wealth, psychology/self improvement and books on different topics under the earth. Journals, magazines and newspapers would also help you to be aware of opportunities around you.

In addition, in our global village, the World Wide Web offers a good tool in sourcing for and harnessing information and knowledge.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a step” (Old Chinese proverb); remember, no venture, no gain. Dreaming only will not get you anywhere. It is only through action that you realise you potentials.

The magnitude of your wealth is the sum-total of your actions or inaction. You need to act fast and with precision. Strike when the iron is hot. Learn to avoid procrastination. Do the right thing at the right time.

It is not enough to action, you need to be convinced that the action is sufficient and on purpose. In clear terms, you need to be diligent. “Hard work enhances creativity;” this is credited to the founder of Daewoo Industry, Korea.

For you to encounter the level of prosperity you have in mind you need to take action on that idea on your mind. Do it and do it now. You should work hard at whatever venture or activity you find yourself in, this one of the habits of successful people.

The “as if” principle is all about autosuggestion as postulated by Napoleon Hill. It is internal assertion or internal representation of your desired state on your conscious and subsequently on your subconscious.

If you must achieve true prosperity, you will help your aspiration by closing your eyes to whatever negative thing is happening around you presently. You then simultaneously begin to see the final picture instead. In essence, you have to start perceiving and behaving “as if” you are already wealthy or prosperous; that is how to play the game.

Anthony Robbins in his book, Unlimited Power captioned this principle as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). He actually called this a science that has been proven over time. Many notable psychogists have also propounded research-based theories on this too.

Start suggesting excellent scenario to yourself. Begin to behave “as if” today and you will soon notice how positive, hopeful and happy you become; these of course, are valuable ingredients in wealth creation. In all your ways, act “as if” you are rich, famous, confident and healthy; you will soon begin to see the physical manifestations.

Mark victor Hansen in the book, How to Achieve Total Prosperity wrote, “God can do no more for me than through me”. The idea is that God can do all things, he can perform all miracles, he can reverse the irreversible, but he still needs your active participation.

The Americans said, “There is no free launch”. You have to give to take. Your number one responsibility in getting God to move on your behalf is to have faith; remember, without this, it is impossible to please God. When you believe in Him truly, you are on the halfway mark; you then need to love God.

Your next responsibility is obedience- obedience to the word of God and other spiritual laws like: forgiveness, honesty, love, loyalty, righteousness, etc. you should also Practice sowing seed, sacrificial giving and charity as whatever you give is actually invested, it will come back in hundred folds.
